Yes, lol. HU is what sends the signal to the amps. It is the Brains of your install. It can make or break your install

Edit: You sir have a 9887. You have a very nice HU. Use it! or trade me for mine, its easier to use!

Some HUs have a lot of different feeatures and added effects and sounds they can use. And some have a lot of audio EQ tweaks and so on. I personally will only buy 16 and up EQ band HUs.
