Mythbusters Episode 58: Shattering Subwoofer/Rough Road Driving

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with that, too, but their explanation for busting it was right. Once there's a crack or leak somewhere, that's it for damage to the car. If it wasn't the sunroof, then it could be a rip in the surround or something (and leak down and out). It won't be glass exploding, suspensions snapping, and doors shaking themselves off.

I watched it to and was kind of amazed that they consider it busted. Especially after reading the article at http://www.digitalgrabber.com/audio/the_60_inch_subwoofer.html. Here's a blip from it.

"Unfortunately, Tim and his crew didn't realize just how much acoustical power the sub could generate, and didn't build the vehicle to contain it appropriately. Even at less than 1/2 output, the doors were blown off the tracks, and the entire vehicle ballooned in and out several inches. The woofer was installed in the "bread truck" anyway, and it went to Finals not fully tested."

If the above quoted statement from that article is 100% true, then I would constitute a speaker being able to destroy a car. I mean if the doors were blown off their tracks, that's some crazy destruction in my eyes.
