one would think that just because things didn't fall apart at 16HZ doesn't necessarily mean that things wouldn't fall apart at say...50 HZ, or 100 HZ...
things resonate at different sound levels/frequencies (ie think opera lady with glass)

they shouldn't have busted it and should have left it inconclusive...

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with that, too, but their explanation for busting it was right. Once there's a crack or leak somewhere, that's it for damage to the car. If it wasn't the sunroof, then it could be a rip in the surround or something (and leak down and out). It won't be glass exploding, suspensions snapping, and doors shaking themselves off.

16 hrtz is low...but if u put into play that the bigger teh woofer=more excursion=lower peak freq...its not THAT impressive...especially for a 52 in. woofer...i am amazed that it held up a long as it did tho

If they revisit that myth with a the help of a db drag competitor or 2, they can do it. They just need to seal everything up except for the windows. Then make their subwoofer a bit more sturdy. If it can stand up for test runs they'll be fine. No chance of themal breakdown at least. I'd best good money they can pop the window seals.

good thing i had DV-R i fastforwarded past the other myth and commercials to be disappointed by a run i thought looked more like a test run..
