We've tried that, but I look at it this way. If I let her have her freedom now while she's a nursing student, once she's a paid nurse, I get my turn.

Plus it's been kinda fun doing this build piece by piece. I've been trying to set 100-dollar caps for each item. Only things I got at close to retail were my comps and HU.

But I am cool with the arrangement. She is sacrificing a lot to earn her doe.

You'd be surpized how well you can do on a budget if you talk to the right people.

Yeah, that was the first purchase, because I knew the feature set would make it an easy purchase. Got that on Crudfield but it was an open box.

Also picked up my JBL MS comps from AAFES because I could put it on my store card and still managed to save enough to make it worth it while keeping a warranty.

Everything else has been bought used or gifted over, so I think I'm doing pretty well.

Received my American Bass VFL 350.4 and it looks to be in perfect condition. It arrived exactly when he said it would (4 business days in my case). Jim is a communicative seller, and gave me a great deal. I met him in person for the sale and he invited me into his workshop and showed me his projects and systems, and told me about some local shows this month I would have missed otherwise... A dedicated and honest vendor who will go out of his way to help you out.

Edit: Just realized I posted in the Thunderdome. I don't know how I feel about myself anymore.

I am with you there, I am ALWAYS hesistant to buy used speakers lol... the easist thing for someone to mess up.

Well, since this is a mylows10 appreciation thread, I will say that he's great for customer service even if I haven't finalized a purchase. Speaks volumes when you have a bajillion questions and they have no problem answering them quickly. Further down the road, I can see him getting a good chunk of my money.

Its really cool that you were able to meet him, I bet he has a v nice set up. I talked with him on the phone a few times, great guy, gives you the time of day and gives you his opinion.

I get to chill with @double 07 ; we have a some good conversations. I got to check out his workshop and get to check out his SPL BMW.. thing always has something new in it. lol

For BNIB I'd check with him first, sometimes he will surpize you on what he can find... It's really difficult to beat his prices. On the three orders I have put in I have paid about 20% under retail.

Lol I'm the exact opposite. I research the living shit out of everything. Hence why I joined ca.com in the first place.
