my XXX 12" louder than friends l5 15"?

wwhen you find out tell me who is louder, the ported l5 or the ported xxx im extremely interested. also what types of cars and how many watts in each, and what tuning frequency

well the L5 15" box is already built to ~2.3 ft^3 sealed.... the xxx 12" will be in a ported box around lets say 3 cubes im not sure yet and ported to a frequency adequate for loud bass (listen to rap) this will be my first ported box as well

Why dose that look like a MT if you say it is a XXX. Did you change the dust cap b/c that looks like a MT dust cap????? Shouldn't the XXX have a XXX dust cap????

you got your xxx 12" cheaper than an L5 fifteen?! how much did you pay for the xxx? how much did he pay for the L5? thats weird i thought xxx 12"s went for about 350, and L5 fifteens are less than 200 bucks now

i got my XXX 12" off of ebay for a combined total of $158 on ebay he went to a car audio shop and got his 15" L5 for over $350

holy shit my SX tuned to 30hz(for sq) beet my friend with an 15 l7 hands down. He had a sweet ported box too. And now you guys are talking about the Xxx wich can take down an Sx with proper wrms given

He must have had like barely 1000 watts going to that L7, because L7's spank. There is no way that a SX can compete with an L7 that is in the right box. I'm saying that based on the fact that the SX is a little bit better than my HC, and the L7 was louder without question.

HC was in a 5 cube box ported at like 35 hz, the L7 was in a 3-4 cube box ported around 35hz as well.. i don't know exactly because i didn't build the box.

Now, the XXX 15" isn't quite as loud as the L7 12. But, the XXX would more than likely be louder than a L5.

SX will waste a 15" L7. ILL PROVE IT. Once i have my SX hopefully this week. Ill run against kid at my schools 15" L7. Hes got it in a SUV. it should own my 12" SX. but mine wang with authority over it.

look at the numbers posted in that thread. The HC is so far behind the L7 it's not even funny. and the L7 beat the xxx hands down.

research before you post. RE aren't the loudest on earth, and i really love RE products and i'm saying that. Would buy an SX over an L7, BUT the L7 IS louder in the right box.

That is an old thread, but the subs haven't changed enough to discredit the results.

Depends on what frequency. The higher up you go, the less SPL depends on displacement capability. Box design and input power also play a great deal into this contest.

L7 is 300-400$ sub depending where u get them brand new. Around me they're like 600$. lame retard audioshop. anyway. SXs are a bit cheaper. Plus they dont have as big of S.A. (surface area) because they are a circle not a square. more like a rectangle actually.
