Here is how I spent my weekend. Installing a simple stereo upgrade in a friends new focus. I am not good at typing up step by step tutorials, I do and did however take many pictures to document work when I do an install. This was a simple upgrade. It consists of the following gear.

New Clarion HU w/USB port for thumbdrive

4 5x7 Blaupunkt 3-way coaxs for the doors

HIFONICS ZXI-8006 5 CHANNEL amp

12" D4 Alpine Type R

Not my first choice at all for the main speakers. He just wanted an upgrade from stock that was slightly louder and better sounding without blowing a lot of dough. I did suggest a nice kick panel solution though. He just didn't bite. The Alpine was chosen because I got a sweet deal for it(thanks nVruckus). The amp was chosen for system simplification and budget. I am still waiting for the amp to arrive and will post more picture on there when it arrives and reply to this thread. The enclosure was purchased from bjfish. I can't believe how well it matched my friends car. That was just a great coincidence. All pictures are on my gallery site.

Why would I loom a pretty blue power wire? I only grommeted anywhere it went through metal. I don't like looming it in the engine bay. I like it to pop out. Just my preference. Why make them pretty colors f you don't see them?

The system isn't finished either as my post stated. I am waiting for the amp to arrive before doing the finishing touches like fleckstone on the amp rack. I don't plan on looming the pwer wire under the hood though unless he wants it that way.

Nothing you say can offend me, because I don't value your oppinion at all. I love my cats. Why wouldn't the seats and carpet be out? To run the wires dumbass. It is alot esier than push the carpet to the side and become a contortionist fitting between steering wheel and seat to puch cable through. It takes about 25 minutes to tear down the entire interior, so why not take the time to, so everything is out of the way to plot out the best route?

I'm not saying I have room to talk, but at least I say that my install is temporary, which would be the reason for the ghetto install in mine. Whats your excuse?

I don't see the ghetto-ness aside from the unfinished amp rack, which will be finished when the amp comes in. A friggin unloomed wire in the bay I don't consider ghetto. I like it that way. Everything is out of the way and can't be seen, except where it goes into the amp. If you think it could be better then offer helpo and suggestions along with your BS.

In fact don't bother. Instead go write some crappy rap that no one care about douchebag.

Well, I guess I'm ghetto then cuz my power wire in all the cars that I have done installs on have the power wire showing here and there before going through the wall. I also don't use loom, all that I do is use grommets where needed. Haven't had any compliants yet even if am considered mendiocre.
