we always go around and around about why this test is inaccurate.
Bottom line is this is the best way we have, there is no other economical way to test. Until someone makes it possible to get a constant load for teh cheap this will have to do.

How much would a couple of 25 watt non-inductive resistors and some distilled water to keep them cool cost ?????

 
Also if you are going to insist on using a reactive load then your clamp should definatly be set on average responding rather then peak hold; otherwise your reading will be even more out of whack from reality....
