What do you guys think...

what kind of box? I've been debating for a long time i want to build a better (bigger) box

Just bored //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

btw sorry also tips on making videos? lol

Probably wouldnt hurt to get new subs too if those are 10yrs old. If you beat on them everyday, I would bet the spiders are saggy which will change your ohm levels and raise the likelihood of bottoming out.

New enclosure! Not that bigger is always better.

Say 2.75cuft gross, with a single 4" aero @ 9" long or so, and let 'er smash.

Do you have the woofers wired so the amplifier is seeing 2ohms nominal?

Change to the audiobahn 1500 series that has the black ring not the chrome one. When they switched to "lets look cool" they went down hill. lol

All though for what you have they do decent. You could build an enclosure and you would gain for sure, but not sure if it would be enough to really warrant building something or not.

Not necessarily bro, once the coil is energized you are relying on electromagnetic force to keep the coil where it needs to be. Only when you are playing under tuning or overpowering drivers does that go out the window and you have to hope the softparts are strong enough to keep together. Err, this isn't ENTIRELY the case, but I'm just bored in thermodynamics and want to act like I'm taking uber awesome notes lol. If the spiders and surround are sagging enough, it only means its static impedance has changed. Once the coil is passing through or is at it's original point of 0 degrees, it'll be the nominal impedance again. His drivers are mounted vertically too.

Lol, though, it'd be funny to see drivers sagging (only to where it has lowered impedance, not drastically raised) enough to place an amplifier into protection. To where getting it started you'd have to tap on the cone lol.

Hehe, if the OP is actually getting 3kW, then I bet he is relying on the softparts strength a lot of the time :p

Not sure if you know this and I'm preaching to the choir, but I just figured I'd put a tiny bit of input into it.

I said that because every woofer that I have seen that is 10+yrs old has had some degree of sag to the spiders. I get where you're coming from though.
Na-uh! Not my Cerwin Vega Strokers y0! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif :p

Oh yeah, heavily used drivers will most certainly sag I agree. It just won't cause bottoming out per se.

thanks for not flaming the bahns guys! but actually the ohm loads are PERFECT and yeah these subs arnt 10 years thats a little exaggeration lol sorry but they are older maybe 6 or 7 years.

but yeah the box ***** this is a polk box (obiously) lol but its for 12s modified for tens. i think the box looks cool lol but i dont agree with it being a good match for these subs i think more air room could yeild better output.

but the subs are nice im impressed but as someone said the SQ pretty much ***** lol. But i have had audiobahn alums in the past that had pretty good SQ i think.

but the subs are wired to the amp at 4 ohms as i can either get a 1 or 4 ohm load..or 2 ohms per channel i just decided to bridge it at 4 ohms....the amp is rated at 2000 RMS 4 ohms bridged

Edit btw there is no bottoming out or anything of the sort actually i can physically force the cone down and it will never reach a "a bottom" like other subs.
