My SPL Box Finished *PICS*

So I was bored yesterday and decided to build this box that I had been putting off for a LONG time. 4 cubes @ 40hz, 87sq in port for 2 12" Type R's (yeah yeah yeah). Got the cuts at Home Depot and they fvcked them up so I had to spend 2 hours sanding so the top piece would lay flat.

I made a couple boo boos though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I drilled 4 holes mistakenly with an 1/8" drill bit. I used some homemade woodfiller (wood glue + saw dust) to fill in the holes on both sides, then I covered that in silicone. These holes are on the top piece, I hope it doesn't jeopardize the integrity of the box or I will be pissed.

There were also some very small gaps in the edges, I just filled them in with some wood glue and saw dust, is that OK? Is there anything better to use to fill in gaps?

Well here are the pics.

coat the inside of the box with some fiberglass resin, it will seal it up tight and add some strength to it.

if you want to make it real strong use some fiberglass matting then fiberglass resin the corners, you will have a super solid box.

you might even see a little bit of a gain in db's by using the fiberglass resin on the inside, also do it to the port, it makes the surface super smooth and the air can move a little easier thru the port with minimal port noise

I would do that, but my class won't let me use resin.
