just a question, how bad is it if your amp has a ssf but it's set at 20hz (non adjustable) and your box is tuned to like say 34hz?

They are called FMODs...inline RCA sub-sonic filters. I used them when i had my jbl 600.1, they can be had pretty cheap from partsxpress....check their websit for 20hz FMOD...high pass. peace

it depends. does your music get into the 25-28hz range. if it does and you got the volume cranked it could be bad. if your music doesnt go that low you have nothing to worry about.

truthfully i don't know how low my music goes. i guess it sometimes goes low? lol. if it makes any difference in my sealed enclosure when i change the ssf to off i dont really hear a difference. i guess i should listen to some test tones but i wanna build my box to 34ish and see the output gains before getting a new amp

I took a plastic butter knife and sum epoxy like glue called Welder and Owned that thing. Bumpin' is back to normal woot woot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Thx for the help. I'll be getting a SSF to play it safe.

duh i plan on going ported over this winter break. anyone else, i'd hate to blow the subs but i don't they will. 20hz preset ssf and 34hz box tuning (i dont really wanna go lower on these solos)
