My SI Magnum D2 Broke!!!

I was comin home today and why Mag stopped hittin so I was like WTF. I went and took it out of my box and the Cone came detached from the Spider. Wtf. So gay. So I guess I should contact SI now or does any1 else have any suggestions. How much do you think it will cost to fix? I don't have a camera for a pic cause I bet that would help.

That sounds like a manufacturer defect. I'd get ahold of someone at Stereo Integrity and see what they think.

I hope so...or I hope its cheap to fix. The parts inside still move its just the cone that came unglued. This other part came unglued b4, but I just reglued it back and it was fine, but this would be really hard for me to fix.

email them, nick will set you straight. you might have to wait for a while though, they are still recovering from the robbery and dont have any re-cones available at the moment. you can post this on the SI forum for more input as well, it is over on ssaudio, there is a link for it on the SI web page.

where exactly did it break? did the triple joint come apart? is it just the top spider? bottom spider? both?

if it isnt torn, you might be able to do a home repair on it.

If u look into the sub from the side and u see where the cone comes down and meets with the wavy part (spider i believe its called), it is completely detached.

I don't think those jbl's have a ssf do they? I know the older ones I was looking at didn't.

that box is a little big for the 12" and with no ssf that could of contributed to it BUT if you dont play anything super low, like in the 25-27 hz range you should of probably been ok. my guess is that it just came time for it to come unglued.

Why would a SSF matter cause I've had this mag for awhile and it has had no problems.

im not sure. nick is a good personal friend of mine, lives right down the street from me, he has nothing in stock right now and is trying to fix that problem immediatly. im sure a re-cone will be very reasonable, im just not sure what the price will be, or the wait.

i know that for a re-cone the soonest it could be completed would be shortly after they get speakers and re-cones in stock... but there is no scheduled date for that yet.
