very nice. that was the advantage of the sig the really thick top plate. the coil is ALWAYS in the gap...

the top plate is something like 33-35mm tall so about an inch and a quarter. it is very large.

The coil I used is flat wound aluminum. it is 4 layers because the gap is so tight and the wind height is 55mm

nothing wrong with a good 4 layer coil it is lighter and less impedence rise...
