my shivas caught on fire

Shrinky I think he was refering to when I posted that I called BS on you. At this point I have still been helping you in other various posts and I am not doubting so badly that you have what you have tho it still does not make sense. Of course it could not be making sense that you knew absolutely nothing about caraudio and went out and bought all of the best stuff you could find. To then self install it and assume as much as you have with the multiple problems you apparently have had since. I hold no grudge against you and was simply using that point to someones smart *** comment earlier in reference and apparently this guy decided to jump in and be an *** because he assumed I was doing that.

Taken any chemistry lately?

Rust or FeO3

forms when Iron, is exposed to water in the atmosphere..

tehre is a reaction between the water and the iron that causes rust to form..

it isnt carried, it forms due to a chemical reaction

in theory, if the amp is made of stainless steel, or aluminum, or some other such rust proof materials, the amp shouldnt rust if submerged in water

Dave Rivera also known as "the fishman" has done this before and I am pretty sure if there was a potential problem he would not have gone ahead with it. His installs are **** near legendary and he has done some of the greatest demo vehicles around!

I don't recall Fishman doing any submerged amps. His big forte' is his aquariums. I have seen a couple of installs he has done, where he used tubing to water cool the heatsinks of amplifiers. He does some great "looking" installs. But what I have seen coming from him in the past couple of years wouldn't last more than fifteen minutes in a daily driver. I know his installs are basically for just show. But would it kill the man to maybe build them sturdy enough to last through a whole show //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you could use a chemical... i forgot the name but i can look for it if anyone is serious with it... it conducts heat but it wont short your amp.... only problem is that you have to build a case that is air tight because the chemical will evaporate very quickly.... and that the chemical costs like 200 bucks a lb if you guys want to look for it, go to techtv.com and try to look for it...

Have u seen any of his stuff fall apart? LOL Of course he doesn't do daily drivers tho I also know lately he has not done much of anything with the aquarium designs. Isn't he writing article for a magazine now on how-to install etc....????

That vette he did for CES was starting to come apart half way through the show. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif The screen coming up from the rear bumper I believe is where it was coming up from. Wasn't working at the end of the show. And don't dare look behind the panels:eek: Last I heard he moved on to run his own company http://www.fishmanaudio.com

yup and now hes holding clinics for peopel to go and learn how to make things look really good but don't work for long, lol.

jk, im sure he can do great work if it wasnt just for show, but i have read numerous times about his motorization that fails during shows, and falls apart, and the wiring being a mess...

didnt he gut some kind of truck (suburban?) and redo it all for a show, and after the show, tehy had to write the truck off cause it was such a mess?

heh, my mistake, i missed the 2 key..

i didnt feel like breaking it down, but i could ahve written out an equation, nto ahuge deal to me...

It's funny how now, whenever you look at a thread, then go to the 2nd page or even sooner, the subject completetly shifts to another topic, completetly different than what the thread is about lol.

There have been some hi-fidelity fanatics that made a enclosure of pure plexiglass and submerged their amplifiers in distilled water for the ultimate cooling ability... Supposedly worked well for them.

So long as you can keep the minerals out of the water, it'll not conduct current. One major heatsink though!
