On my way to work today I started noticing a small amount of static coming from the mb quart 5.25 midbass in the passenger door. It kinda concerned me, but not enough to pull over right then and fix it, so I just turned the volume down a few notches, adjusted the crossover to take some bass outta them, and kept right on driving. Well, by the time I got to work the small staticy noise had turned into a loud crackel that got worse with every bass note....so I did what any normal human would do...cranked the amp gain to full, took the highpass all the way down and turned the volume up to 50 and let the motherfuggers die in a blaze of glory.

I haven't bought or even thought about midbass speakers for about 3 years now (I got my quarts in 99), so I don't even know what's out there these days. I'm not the kind of guy that will just buy something cause somebody tells me it's good, but I'm looking for suggestions as to what to listen to. I don't need a comp set. I already have the tweeters I like and I have a three-way crossover already. I just need a 5.25" midbass or full range speaker. I'll be powering them with an Audio Art 70.2 (about 50-60w RMS x 2 @ 4 0hms) and keeping the bass out of them with my trusty Lanzar Vibe X6 crossover. Any suggestions are appreciated.
