my midwoofer pooped the bed!

I've noticed over the last few days that my midbass was being drawn towards the passenger side...thats cause my driver side mid locked itself up.

I got bored and cut the woofer up and found that the former that the voice coil is woven on is crumpled in the area between the top of the voice coil and bottom of the spider/cone.

basically the coil is slightly off center enough that it locked up in the gap.

It's sad that happened, because they sounded great!

They were only getting 50 watts rms from a bazooka 4 channel amp.

Now I have a set of RSD6.0s to install and an Aura RPM2300 amp to power them.

That should be a definite step up, eh?

well I figured out why the woofer locked up. The cone was hitting the back of the door panel on the bottom edge of the opening. There were no scratches or marks on the damaged woofer, but the other woofer had marks that lined up with the door panel. Stupid Nissan! So I took my diagonal pliers and notched the inside of the panel.

Anyways I threw in the RSD 6" component set still powered by the Bazooka and the tweeter definitely sounds smoother at high volumes over the Octane ZR silk tweeter.

I'm content.

if thats the same audiosavings off of ebay i hate them now i got a bum kicker midbass woofer and have been getting no response for warranty from them they can eat my *** with a spoon

I think it is the same audiosavings. That sucks to hear about your problem, but I guess no seller is perfect you know?
