My JCW Mini Cooper has arrived

Paid 420 a month with 0 down on my GTS Eclispe in 02. And that was buying it. Was 29,000 out the door with taxes, title and everything.
Good thing I paid off that car early and is out of my hands though. Hated that car!
That equates to a 70 month loan at 0%....this is 36 months.

You are leasing it and I bought mine.................and paid it off in 3 plus years. Made a profit on it as well as I sold it for more money that I thought I could get for it. Paid off the rest of my loan and bingo, bango.

If you go through cars all the time, then leasing is for you. Wasn't saying it was wrong to lease, just "I" wouldn't spend that much for leasing something.

Nice looking car. Those wheels don't suit it IMO though. They look nice, but they're too... complicated, for lack of a better term. A nice set of 5 spokes would give a cleaner look. But hey, It's not my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Congrats on the purchase.

It's awaiting transport, should be here in 3-4 weeks. This is the factory JCW, all previous JCW cars (except the limited edition GP) were Cooper S's with a JCW engine upgrade. I've read nothing but good reviews so far, so I'm pretty excited.
The MSRP was $30.3k, I paid $29.5k with free stripes and floor mats thrown in plus no financing markups on my lease, so I'm paying $390/month for a 15k/year lease with $0 down, as opposed to $550/month with $0 down on a buy...plus I get to write it off since I'm self employed. I also fully expect the car to be worth $4-5k more than the buyout at lease end. Other dealers are marking them up $3-5k and are out of allocations for the rest of the year. I originally wanted a 135/335 but the 135 lease was in the $550 range with $0 down and the 335 around $600/mo with $0 down....Cooper wins in all aspects except pure power and cargo room.
Pardon my n00bness, but I have a couple questions

1) what do you mean "i paid 29.5k" when you said you are leasing it?

2) tell me about this "getting to write it off since I'm self employed", i don't understand that.

When you're self-employed, you can write it off as a tax write off. It depends on your business also. My parents own a poultry farm and they're allow to write off anything that is used for the business so they can write off gas receipts and they bought a truck and they wrote that one off too. Make any sense?
