Common sense tells me that if the ground comes out of amp to the cap and then from the same terminal going to body of car, that in itself is a direct path to ground. Wire to cap then from that very same terminal to ground is a continual path. The same as the power side, into cap then from same terminal to the amp is a continual path, so charging the cap won't have any effect on whether the amp gets power or not. Before you jump on my *** for what I've said stop and think. Now it is a common practice to keep grounds as short as possible. So in essence, ground amp at the closest point from amp as possible. Redo the ground for the cap. It is suspect to me.
