My headunit Alpine CDM-9823 stopped functioning today, I've had it installed mabye a year and a half now with no problems. So today I turn on the car and the radio does not turn on. I press the reset buton, but no luck. So I proceed to check the fuses under the hood and in interior fuse box and there are none blown, then I check all the connections and the fuse behind the head unit itself, and all is fine. So then I decide mabye the head unit is a goner, so I pull it out and put the stock one back in to no avail, even the stock one will not work. The head unit WORKED YESTERDAY, all I did was pull out the old 8 guage power wire for my amp (which had been disconected from the amp for 2 weeks now, not to worry about it grounding out though, as I removed the inline fuse from under the hood), heres what I did step be step; I disconected the ground on the battery, then I disaconected the positive to take off the 8 guage power wire, and I did so, then reconnected the positive and then the negative on the battery. Then I removed the power cable from under the carpet and I was done, didnt think to see if the radio worked or not. The car is a 2003 GMC Sierra Extended Cab. Does anyone have any clue as to why my headunit is no longer functioning? Thanks
