My first wiring gig, could use some help (diagram attached)

I'm getting ready to do my very first car install, so I decided to spend an afternoon drawing up a simplified power wiring diagram ... and I'd love some input on it. You can see it here:

wiring diagram

Does it look ok (meaning "Will I burn down my car if I wire it like this?")? Bear in mind that the equalizer, subs, and all 3 amps will be in the trunk - so I'll draw 0 gauge power wire back there, and then distribute it accordingly.

And ... if I use fused distribution blocks, will I be able to remove the inline fuses, then? Or should I keep both?

Lastly ... anyone know what kind of fuse I'd need for the PP DEQ-230 equalizer? I've looked around, but have been unable to find any specs (and the Precision Power site is pretty bad).

first of all, JESUS CHRIST!!! u better have a nice upgraded electical sys, those 2 hifonics will draw currents like crazy. assumin trhe square blocks r distros....

first of all, remember to ground the head unit too. and use a NON FUSED DISTRO to ground all amps, and use 0 awg ground from distro to chassis. (using the same gauge for ground taht u using to power eahc amp)

now, jsut to save u some money, dont use a distro to split the power from amps to hu. just run a separate power wire from batt to hu, it's cheaper, n u dont need that long of a wire anyways.

everything else looks fine. for the eq, just run 8awg wire, evne smaller might be fine.

i didn't check te speaker connection but it should be fine, but can the magnums take 1100+rms? i thougth 600rms was the recommended. if so, u can just run one of the BX1000D to both of them, just wired them to 1 ohm.

Yah, I think my electrical system is up to par - I just installed a 200 amp alternator, and upgraded the battery wiring to 4 gauge.

Thanks for the comments - got a couple of follow-up questions for ya ... Why do you suggest using a non-fused distribution block for the amps? If I do that, that means I'll definitely have to use the inline fuses, right?

Thanks for the tip about running power straight to the HU - I'll do that.

Lastly, yeah, the Magnums can handle all the power the individual hifonics will be putting out - I checked with Nick at SI just to make sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm still confused about the fused/non-fused distribution block thing, though ... if I use a non-fused distribution block, I will need all the inline fuses marked in the diagram, right?

But if I use a fused distribution block, I'll only need the fuse on the wire to the HU and the master fuse next to the battery?

Or am I missing something obvious here?

fused distro is for power.

non fused distro is for ground. instead of runnin multiple wires to one single ground, like 4 4awg into one spot, u send those 4 to a distro,n one 0 awg from distro to ground. simpler.
