For my 21st bday in a few months i was thinking about getting a motorcycle, now ive riden plenty of things before (dirtbikes, atvs, buggys, etc) ive just never owned a motorcycle. I was wondering what I should look at for my first bike, i want it fast (obviously) but i dont think i would be ready for a hayabusa or anything like that yet but just a nice all around sport bike. The one thing i am concerned with is that i am 6'5" 280lbs and need an appropriately sized bike. I was looking at like a ninja 650r and stuff but need some input. Try to keep it at MAX $3000

due to your age you may want to price out insurance first. a buddy of mine (23y/o) bought a brand new Yamaha R6 2 years ago. calls his insurance company to add the bike to his policy so he could drive the bike off the lot. gets first month's insurance bill $380/mo. after he called around to get a cheap price he was only able to get the price down to $275/mo. winds up selling the bike 2 months later b/c he though his insurance was going to be cheap like mine.

**** that looks good

sounds fun

your gettin wayyyy ahead of your selfyou need to start off with a smaller cycle untill you get comfortable

and you'll be paying at least 3 grand for insurance
I agree my first bike was a 1983 bmw r100rs it didnt have a lot of tourq but it had power enough for me to learn on. I do miss that bike. And yes I fell on it once I let the clutch out to quick and I am glad it wasnt a brand new bike. You do need to start small I dont know why I recommended that versys lol.
