My first FG attempt... :-/

i re-state.
i STRONGLY suggest tearing what you have done already off, and just doing fleece. i could have that box done in 3 hours (with dry time for the resin) and carpeted by the time you are done putting bondo on and waiting for it to dry.

im 100% serious.
u like it tacky

Add 3 more layers of glass and boom you got your 4 layers total!

req has no idea what he is talking about. he = teH sux0rs @ fiberglass :p You don't necessarily HAVE to fleece it. The fleece just gives you a better structure to lay the glass on. Since you've already got your structure and a layer of glass keep going!

thanks...all I seriously have to do is add a lil bondo (a whopping 30mins to dry) and sand

lol that is not what i said :p. You will need bondo before you are done with the project but until you are ready to start the finishing process i would just leave bondo out of the picture :p

I already have enough layers...im at the bondo stage is what I was saying

my next fg box will be here in next week or so..I will use fleece then

i never said it wasnt possible.

i said it was a million bajillion times eaiser. and its not just the 'foundation' that makes it eaiser, it gives you the nice smooth curving shape you want in a matter of minutes. trust me... its the way to do it right.

and my resin dries in 45mins~1.5 hours (in the summertime) normally. i do all my fleece and glass in the same step. only takes about 15 minutes. then a light 40 grit sand, and carpet.

it really should not take you more than half a day unless the weather does not let the epoxy harden.

ill make you tacky //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

req is right about it being much easier to just rip that glass off. its the easiest thing to do. that front baffle will vibrate and crack ur bondo if its anything more than 1/8-1/4 inch.
what you mean if my bondo is more than 1/8"-1/4"? You saying the FG/Bondo will crack?

Yep the bondo will, that's what I said in in an earlier post in this thread. If your gonna keep going with what you have. You should really use bondo hair, kitty hair, or some other fiberglass reinforced filler first to fill in the low spots ( looks like a lot are more than a 1/4" deep ). Then use the body filler on top too smooth it out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

your better off doing it with fleece.

you have no idea. honestly. just take it off and re-do it. you might have to cut a new baffle ring, but seriously. you are wasting your time with this. practice with fleece so your next project comes out better.

X a million and a half... you have no clue how much better off you'd be to just re-do it...

Please just start over.

well I was gonna use the filler on parts needed then lay some resin on top of the bondo then prime then paint...

By applying resin over the filler you will do nothing but create a pain in the a$$ for yourself. It's a waste of time and your money. Once you apply the resin over the filler. You will undo all the sanding you did in the first place to make it smooth.

For future reference

Body filler = almost no strength at all purely cosmetic in use.

Resin = almost no strength at all by itself. Must be used with mat and or cloth to provide any kind of real strength.

Just trying to help you brother man, just trying to help ............//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
