my first competition today (small comp)

i asked him and he said TL

passenger door was closed drivers door was open.

no pics...only thing worthy of pics was that canyon with 2 15" mts

that shit was superrrrr loud the buildings around were shaking

then he asks my friend to buy them for 350 a piece, im like uhh you can get BTLs for that new, he said ****it thats what i wanna buy

first i had the door open about 6" and did a 141.4

then fully open did a 141.9, it jumped to 142+ but came down

if i revved up to get the alternator goin would it have made a difference

im debating now if i should get the box done to 4.5cubes, could they like add on the box or build a whole new one.

and then it would be weird because i have the panel behind the sub box and i dont know if theres left over space.

will it make that much of a noise to ear difference with 4.2cubes to 4.5cubes?

thanks for the input and support all!

i think this is plenty loud enough for me actually in a DD.

i should get some BTLs and call it a day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D

unless you're gonna buy 3 more amps... BTL's are probaby not the ticket...

there's hundreds of things to change and alter to get the number out...

swapping subs in and out isn't the answer....

competition is about build and test.. not build do a show, change subs, do another show.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i'd go for a decent hu, you could play with the eq and theres just too many functions that imo can get your system to play a little better and louder (if you know how to use it) box is deff a thing to look at as well and i kno ill probably get bashed for this but i don't think that score is that high my friend did a 147 i think not sure but it was over 145 with 2 12" pa fubr's off a pa2400db but there were also other variables different mic location his seats fold down etc those fubr' only cost 60 shipped a peice just lack in sq just my 2cents

Basically it's all in the install, and im not disrespecting you just tryin to tell you theres room for improvement if you want to get louder, the gear has done it's part, now do yours //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If I can make a simple box with 2 12" crunch groundpounders do a 143 in bassrace (peaking in the low-mid 40 hz range)out of the trunk of a cavalier, I'd hope to god that you could make a pair of Mag's do a better score in streetbeat...

only a couple peoplei was in Street beat 2....

mic was on passenger floor and drivers door was fully open and all windows were up

did a 141.9

expected a lot more but that was at idle

i dont know if i revved it to like 1500 maybe it wouldve been louder

actually wont a trophy also because the other guy blew his subs but it wouldve been close

oh yea i have the stock HU so i think that number will go up, and then if i revved it.

heard 2 15" mt's...loud? yea guy did a 150 iin a GMC canyon
i just heard 2 12" or 15" MT's do a 152 in a chevy silverado ext cab

box with little gap on top...i can fit my hand in there up to my knuckles

*black thing hanging on subs is a string to let seats down, doesnt harm subs*

loyd i was just kidding about the BTL's

im just saying those MTs were crazy loud and the BTLs are supposedly around that.

there are pics of the setup i posted them on here before (finally, system pics) thread name

it was supposed to be a foam-in just no foam and there are a few gaps that allow air and the 1inch gap on top of the box

again car was at idle, no rev, if it has any play with power to amp

stock HU so i know that will help

im thinkin of asking that guy how hard itd be to build the box 4.5cubes but that wont be for a few days.

the 2 mt's did a 152 i think and then he shut it off but i think that was a tone

then he played music and did 150 but he purposely turned it off early. he had a JBL amp on them facing upwards.
