Dont think so. They may look somewhat similar, but I doubt the fu could compete with the stroker, and also why would cv sell their design. I doubt they did that.
from what i heard, CV almost went bankrupt a couple years ago, what a good way to make money

they arent exactly the same obviously, but they use the same general design

no man, they are the same exact thing. CV does not sell the o.g. stroker anymore. They sell the stroker 2 now which is a totaly different sub. CV sold the old stroker design to PA to make a last ditch profit off a sub that they were replaceing anyway.

 
Either way what? If power handling drops below fs it's still of no consequence and as far as I can tell has no adverse effects on performance. The fact that it has a big *** cone and moves a lot of air still remains. I have had boxes at 28 hz. and 35 hz. and as with many other subs, the box that was tuned lower produced a much better low end.
