My Excelon sounds like s*e*x !

a lot of money? that's cheap. I paid more than that for my Excelon KDC-589.

And I don't understand how speakers running off headunit power can sound like ***. I have some 5.25" coax speakers that are amplified 100x2 and it's clean/loud but doesn't sound like ***.

I've got the xxv-01D. I disagree that it sounds like *** but that is because it IS ***. I love my hu and didn't think the manual was too bad.

I love how mine sounds... I just hate functionalty of it. It acts up from time to time. Not spitting out cds, screen blinking, ect.

i got the x790 and outta curiousity, when does clipping start on this deck? (prolly the same with the x890) the volume turns to red at volume 10/35, but listening volumes are more like 22/35 even with the windows up...more of a caution thing more than anything

I go up to 30/35. I also did a quick test to see if I was clipping the signal and if it had any effect on my score. I burped on the 30/35 volume,+0 Sub level, with the gain set with a DMM. Then I turned it down to 20/35, +15 subwoofer level, set gain with DMM, did another burp - exactly the same.

I have had mine 29/35 but at that level it is insane loud. As far as I know I have never went into clipping. I do know that I can turn it up to 3/4 volume without fear of clipping or anything else.

does the sub out clip if you had the sub at +15 and the volume was at 32/35?

It most definetely would. When I go to do a burp, I set the volume at 30/35 and sub at +9. I'm sure it's clipping, but that's when the score stops getting higher so meh. . .

max mine goes to is 26/35

If I were to burp it would be at volume 26 and bass + 9

regular music listening i keep it at 25-26/35 and bass -3 to 0
