My dad accidently smoked salvia

I was sitting here playing a video game, and my dad starts yellin for me from inside the garage. This isn't abnormal, but when I get there he tells me that I have to help him get out of here. Not knowing what he's talking about I'm like what are you talking about? Anyway, he makes me carry his ***, all while he says we have to get out of here.

My dad smokes weed, and he was given something in a vile that he thought was some weed. I don't personally smoke it, but he takes care of his business so that's his business I suppose. It turns out what was given to him was actually salvia, and my dad just tripped balls. I'm an EMT-B, and thought at first he was having a stroke because he was slurring his speach, and was falling over. The Firefighters, police, and ambulances just left a litte while ago. Long story short, don't smoke shit in a vile that looks like weed....

Funny thing was I had to explain to the 10+ first responders what salvia actually was....

Salvia cannot be mistaken for weed, they look completely different. Plus, you usually need a butane lighter to get the full effects from it.

He didn't know what it was, he thought he was going to get high...Think if you thought you were smoking some weed, and started tripping. It only lasted for maybe 5 minutes at the most, but all he was saying is he smoked something my cousin gave him. My cousin happens to be a schitzo crack head. Awesome, I know.

He's definately an idiot, but if he only took one hit he wasn't going to notice the taste difference until he afterward. It was just a VERY small piece, so it was an honest mistake.

1 hit numb nuts. It wouldn't be hard to take a pull, and then inhale before you realized what was going on. We don't even know what strength it was. My dad is 60 years old, so I'm guessing he been smoking for more than a week.

I realize it would taste different, and most people use a torch when using it, but if it was like 100x, or something, and he wasn't expecting it I could see a guy wigging out on it.

There is a video on youtube of a stranger they gave a pipe to, and said it was weed. He hit it, and started freaking out, because he didn't know it was salvia. Why didn't he know it was salvia?

I don't want to get into a debate on how weed tastes or whatever, just thought I'd share an interesting story.
