My custom home subwoofer

Thanks, I still haven't finished the top yet, been kind of lazy and not sure what I want to do. I'm probably just going to put a solid oak top on it with beveled edges and a small trim piece underneath for $$ purposes. I really wanted to go granite or marble but making a piece to a custom size is big money, not willing to spend $200-300 on it.

I was referred to go the do it yourself route by a member on hometheaterforum.com. I have about $650 into everything including amp, subsonic filter, sub, box and materials. And FWIW, this sub is absolutely amazing, I can't believe how hard my house hits, lol.

But if/when you get to that point of doing one, hit me up, I'll help you if you need it.

great sub huh?
whats it tuned to?

looks good but i would prefer it to be a darker color
I have it tuned to 21 hertz, and I went the same color as all the oak trim and shelving in the basement, sorry you don't like the color.

And yes, this sub is amazing for the price, you should look into it before criticizing!!

This is the sub I'm running misfit138, my amp will push that 18" Maelstrom you referenced but for the price, I'd rather just build another complete setup (amp and all) of what I have, running dual subs................which might happen next summer!!

what do u mean before i criticize? im one of the few who suggest the shiva, and tempest on this forum...
Sorry, hard to tell if you meant it in a positive manner or sarcastic, like you were questioning my choice of sub, lol.

But yeah, I was going to buy a SVS cylindrical sub for $600 and was asked if I had the skill to build my own and was referred to this route. I couldn't thank the guy enough for the choice. I never heard of any of the equipment I bought, just took his word for it and it definitely proved worthy and then some.

I tried to explain to my brother the amount of bass my house produced and he thought I was blowing smoke up his ***. When he came over to listen to it, he gave me an old school bass CD (Techmaster PEB) and was laughing within the first few seconds saying.......WHAT'S THE POINT!!!

not to mention its probably the cleanest bass u can buy, especially for that price!!!

Exodus products are awesome. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Now, tell me otherwise. Oh yeah, the Shiva is widely known as a very nice subwoofer as well.
i know you love me bro, and u should know half my posts on this forum are links to the shiva and ae av.

so why u said this is beyond me. laugh

I thought about that after I cut the legs, little late though! But, there is plenty of room for excursion and I actually put some 2x4's underneath the legs and didn't notice a difference in sound. It sounds amazing, I couldn't be happier and plan on building a second one next year.
