My Coustic subs don't pound as hard as they used to. HALP! Can they be fixed? =/

When they were new, they pounded hard. Now, they sound tired. They don't distort but you can notice how the bass just sounds loose and they don't sound loud anymore. Do you guys know of a place where they can recone them? They're in perfect physical shape other than a bit of surface rust on the magnets from the humidity here. Other than that, they are as good as new exterior-wise. I know there are better subwoofers out there. I paid $140 for both back in '03 or '04 and they have sentimental value to me because they were the first subwoofers I bought for my Celica. Please let me know. I'd like to have them fixed with new internals if it's possible.

Thanks, man. Quick reply. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif But I asked them last week and they said they don't work these speakers. That I can buy other ones from them. Jeez. I specified in my e-mail to them that I CAN buy new ones but I don't want to. I just want these fixed. They are discontinued and for being cheap subs, they sound good and loud. CF1244 is the model. I ordered an IA Lethal Injection 12", but I still want these fixed for my other car.

Yes, man. Tinsels are intact. The cone has tight movement. I don't feel it loose. Maybe it was tighter before, but I can't remember. According to the Coustic spec sheet, they have 3" wide x 1.170" tall voice coils. They are the CF series. CF1244 model to be exact. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

They're not installed anymore. I stripped my car, but before removing th system, everything was cherry, man. I'm very picky with my installs. Everytime I take out the wires from the amps, I cut them and strip "new" wire out. It's a mental thing I guess. But yeah. Everything was awesome. I think my Crystal amp overpowered them. They were sounding super loud and crisp one day and the next they sounded tired and the bass dragged instead of hitting with authority. I mean, I could sell them and the buyer wouldn't even notice that. They still pound and bother the ears. They're not blown. But they're not as loud or as tight as before. It's not my hearing. My friend noticed too.
