I wanted to build a stereo for my boat lol. Its a small Jon boat I use to get in small creeks here in south ga. I always wanted to build a stereo for it but wasn't sure how to approach this without taking up too much space or harming the structural integrity of my stump jumper.

I built a cooler. Inside the igloo is a small 140w (lol) sound stream amp. Wired to 2 Pyle 6.5 hydra coaxial speakers, and a 8" matching woofer. Yes I know, the cheapest of the cheap.... Exactly what I wanted to experiment with! I have less than 100$ in all of it. Soon as they pop I will get some jbls. Heres a video of it in my jeep. My aspen tablet has a terrible mic. But bear with me.

These are really cool. My friend made one to float rivers, take to camping etc. He put a small 12v battery inside instead of having to plug into a cig adapter.
Yeah! Mine is the same way lol. I can set a lawnmower battery inside of it, and the mp3 player inside of it and close the lid so its all concealed making it splash proof. The battery is only a 275cca and its rated at 18a/hr i believe. It should last awhile on a full charge. Ill right more as i experiment

It won't let me load the video... Lame I had a cooler I built for floating the river but gave it to my little brother .... Just a headunit and 2 6.5's

how well sealed are those speakers? i probably wouldnt trust it floating in the water lol unless you spent a lot of time using some sort of silicone sealer on all the holes..

Sweet! Love the volt meter lol
Lol everyone does! But it does serve a purpose though. My small boat has a single battery for cranking the motor and trolling motor. The volt meter allows me to keep an eye on battery level so I don't get stranded....again....

These are sealed tight with silicone but I'm not sure if I would trust it to float lol. I'm going to post a higher resolution video on lunch break lol
The cooler gets its own inner tube... I'd fill mine right up with ice and beer and it never failed me

I've seen some people do them in rolling garbage cans running off a battery and NONE had a volt meter. That would be the FIRST thing I would install so I would know when my tunes were about to quit at my BBQ lol.
