My complete setup

I'm about to upgrade from the first system I put in. Not by much, but enough.

HU: Pioneer 590ib

SPEAKERS: pioneer coax(50wrms, 6881)

--ADDITION-- SPEAKER AMP: Pioneer 5300(125wrms x 2 @4ohm), used to be sub amp

SUBS: KICKER dvc CVR 12" (400wrms each)

---ADDITION--SUB AMP: hifonics 1206d (1200wrms x1 @1ohm) (will these go well together?)

I'll have the rear speakers running off my HU, the front 2 running off the pioneer amp. The 2 amps will be connected to a distro block which will sit in the trunk(I need to find an amped block with a 4awg in, 4awg out). I currently have stock battery, stock alt, 4awg power wire running from battery to trunk(fused ~8" away from battery)

my 2 kickers are in a sealed box--i had them in a pre-fab ported box made for rockford fosgate p2's lol, that sucked. took them out right away and made a sealed box...sounded much better!

Is this going to be alright? I haven't bought the sub-amp yet...

I eventually want to get components up front, so I'm thinking the pioneer amp will be good for that. I'm just not ready to make or buy kickpanels yet.

thanks for any replies/suggestions/flaming:)

The only suggestion I'd say is to run 0 gauge right off the get-go. That way you have headroom to upgrade and you'll be giving the BX1206d a little more juice to work with.

Oh and ditch the coax's, get a set of 2-way components (midwoofer/tweeter). CVR's aren't bad subs for the $$$

planning to in the future, over the summer maybe. I'll see how it sounds, see if its ok until its warm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

0 guage didn't fit into my pioneer amp, so I ran 4...if it isn't necessary for this setup, i'd prefer to save myself the hassle of running the power wire again lol. Do you think it would make a difference for the current setup? If i were to upgrade in the future, i would definitly run 0awg from battery>trunk...

ty!

is it ok to split a 4 guage power wire from the battery into:

A. 4 guage power wire to sub amp in trunk.

B. 4 guage power wire to speaker amp under front seat.

will the sub amp still get the same power...and will the speaker amps power wire be too long? its a compact car...
