My clarion HU/EQ review

First off, I never knew how much a good headunit could really make a difference. I got the Clarion DXZ765MP and Clarion EQS746, and all i can say is wow. The components are crystal clear, never sounded better. The bass response is much better, although im having voltage problems. need a new battery. so as of now my subwoofer control is flat and bass is at -6, 0 on 50hz. but even with the bass turned down as low as it is, and solobarics not known for theyre SQ, it sounds amazing. I got the headunit and equalizer for about the same price anyone would pay for a "decent" pioneer or kenwood. I belive i payed around 200 shipped brand new for both of them from OCS. I'm very satisfied with clarion, theyve made a new lifetime customer. I suggest to anyone looking for a new headunit to try Clarion and get off of the pioneer boat. Not to mention all the problems people are having with Pioneer these days. I was even able to set my subwoofer control to the frontstage, since i use stock 6x9's in back. I fade to the front around +6, at nominal listening volume my 6x9's distort so i have to fade it to the front, cut out some of the rear highs and keep it on the components, and with this headunit i was able to control where the subwoofer fades to also. anything set at 0 or faded front, the subwoofers plays. but not on the rear, where it usually is. I'm just very satisfied, not to mention the custom colors. I loved the 880PRS for its "hyper white" light color. This clarion has that, and its beautiful. ground loop, alt whine. i had the 6900UB before i got this clarion. i doubt ill be getting another pioneer anytime soon

i just sold that same combo you just got, and bought the same pioneer you had and the main difference is the 7 volt pre-out voltage on the clarion EQ vs. the pioneers 4. i recently added a 9 volt memphis line driver to my front stage and it is now on par with the clarion set up. i do miss the clarions ability to turn off the internal amp it seemed to keep the deck cooler, but for the price that clarion pair is one of the best deals going IMO
