my cd player just plays bass when i listen to my ipod or cd player, but radio works

i bought an alpine cd player back in july and installed it and everything worked perfect. but when i got my new car i bought a new wiring kit and installed it and when i have the radio on the speakers and subs both work perfect. when i put in a cd or plug in my ipod the subwoofers only play. i went to bestbuy yesterday and was told id have to purchase another cd player because it couldnt be a wiring problem.i bought a cd player jus like it so i could easily just plug it in. i got out to my car with the new cd player and got it hooked up it did the same thing as the one i already have. i took it back and returned it and they told me to get a new wiring kit. i waited until today to install it and its still doing the same thing. i have no idea what else it could be. please help me out

the only thing I can think of is that you're using the power antenna lead for amp turn on instead of the dedicated (amp) remote lead AND your sub amp has some kind of signal sensing power on circuit.

Otherwise i don't know.

if the speakers are powered from an amp, i agree. if they are powered from the HU than there is another issue.

what model HU? speakers? sub amp?

i have the alpine cde-102 head unit and alpine mrp-m1000 amp w a pair of kicker cvr 12s. i havnt done any rewiring with the speakers and most of those are all factory speakers. i checked some of the wires and when i plugged in a speaker straight to the wiring kit it played perfectly. i just dont understand what the problem could be in the wiring

I agree with the other replies in this thread. Double check you wiring on the harness. The Alpine will have two blue wires. Just switch them. I won't hurt anything. I can't remember specifically which one Alpine dedicates as amp turn on or power ant. turn on. But in your aftermarket harness, it will have one BLUE wire. Just switch it from what you have it wired to now. Switch it right to the other BLUE wire from the Alpine. It may be the BLUE/WHITE you need to switch it to, or vice versa, to the solid BLUE.

Try this. Like I said, it won't hurt anything at all. Both those wires do the same thing (12 volt out for remote turn on). It just depends on which feature on the radio is on, radio, or CD/iPod.

You see, if it's the power ant. lead you have wired now it will be ON when the radio is on. When you switch to CD/iPod, it'll turn off (essentially turning off a power antenna) The BLUE/WHITE wire will be 12 volt turn on lead at all times, used to turn on and keep on, an amplifier.

I am a 15 year car audio Master Certified installer. I've seen this problem a million times. This will fix it 98% of the time. The other 2%, there's just some sort of malfunction some else at will require a much more thorough troubleshoot.

Plain and simple=> switch the blue wires. It can't hurt.

Good Luck
