My burnt 1001bd (Pictures) Taking suggestions for replacement

Those amps are known to get rather warm even running at 2 ohm. The ED NINe.1 that he was talking about is an amplifier made by Elemental Designs.

Rated RMS is 900@2 ohms, w/12.5v. Expect more.

I actually ordered one of these way back when when they first decided to make amplifiers. Circumstances ended up being that the amps were never made and Ben had to somehow reimburse or substitute Avionixx amplifiers.

Aha, I DID read 1 ohm somewhere. If the amp was running at 1 ohm, then that is most certainly what fried it. It's not 1 ohm stable.

However, if you have two 4 ohm SVC subs you couldn't have had a 1 ohm load.

To all:

The entire bd series is NOT 1 ohm stable.

General user malfunction always seems to lead to problems.

Set your gains correctly. Keep away from moisture.

Fosgate amps do NOT blow. Whoever says that is either stupid, too poor to ever own one, or following the anti-RF people because THEY can't afford them. Yes, there are better amps for your money, but their amps are still high quality.
