My best friend just got a system! I'm so excited!

You fucking twits. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
Here's an example.

"You're wondering how their store can sell your items there. They're on sale."

You're undereducated. ( You+are undereducated. )

Your education suffers. ( The education belongs to you. It is yours. )

There's a problem with that. ( There+is a problem. The problem is there. )

It's their problem. ( It's a problem that belongs to them. )

They're not doing anything about it. ( They+are who is not learning. )

Things to sell are on sale.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif Is that too god*amned fancy to understand?

I hate you.

Love,

Cybe.

You can blame that all on our schooling system and degradation of society. The English language is pretty much non-existant any more, let alone grammatically correct.

It just ain't write. No what Im sayun? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You guys are talkin shit.
Infnitys can take a beating. At one point I was over powering the reference series each by 100watts. Gains set with DMM....

To the thread starter: You should be shot you are a member of this forum and you go ahead and let your friends get that equipment for there systems?
I know for a fact the thermal rating on that coil is 350w, or just above it

I would be weary running more than that to the sub.

They used to have it on their site, it was there a couple of months ago.

Ill search and find out where they say it.

You have a valid point, but we don't know how they came to that conclusion. Load it into an enclosure, heat up the coil and everything changes. Add in ambient temp, less efficient cooling methods, extended play times, and that number could be even less. For all we know, they rated the coil by doing short bursts free-air with more than adequate cooling.

Let him stress that coil and learn the hard way. It'll finally sink in.

1) Your friend's box has an air leak (explains the moving carpet and rattle sound).

2) Your friend needs a new deck with better volume adjustment display (as you already know).

3) I have no idea what everyone else is fighting about here. Grammar cops no less? This could have been a very simple/quick thread.

I've had a pair of Perfect 10.1's (350W rated RMS) since year 2000, I believe. I ran them hard in .667 cu. ft. internal net sealed (ea) on 317W each for years. Then, they sat in a box on the shelf in my garage for over a year, experiencing extreme temperature changes of the desert. Then I brought them back to life and tossed them into a pair of .77 internal net sealed enclosures and fed 400 W RMS into each for about a month, then 500 W RMS into one of them for about a week. In each instance they've taken a serious beating, during both tuning and listening.

I'm not saying that this wasn't pushing them beyond their theoretical thermal limit, but I will say that I had absolutely no problems with them and they still sound just as good as they did years ago. It could have something to do with the fact that I know how to set gains properly and was never clipping the crap out of them, like most average consumers will do.

Hi,
Good morning and thank you for your inquiry. Even though the Kappa

Perfect 12.1D is rated at 350watts RMS, it can handle much more

continuous power. It should be able to handle twice as much power

without any problems.

I hope this helps.

That's the response I got when I contacted Infinity and asked if 427 watts is harmful.

And to the guy who said I should be shot, there is nothing wrong with Infinity. Sure, there are better, but as long as he's happy, that's all that matters. At least it's not Sony, RF P1's, or Kicker Comps. Top-of-the-line Infinity.

*sigh* Perfect fanboys unite.

Perfects sound decent, however they have several mechanical design issues that result in a large number of damaged woofers. You take your chances sending them anything more than 350RMS(sealed, .8Qtc and up). Some will survive for a while (or even a long while), but many will not. They also have had issues with the glue connecting the spider to the former. It tends to be brittle, and with extended use can come undone, compromising linearity. Infinity claimed to have remedied the issue, however I still had one newer unit fail on me after the supposed fix. It may have been a lemon, but it was straight from Infinity on a warranty from a previous woofer that melted (600W sealed on a very hot day, it was bound to happen). I've gone through 4 Perfects in the past, two had glue issues, two melted due to overpowering (youthful ignorance). I also know the return rate of them from Future Shop stores in the Edmonton area, although most people are morons, so that doesn't indicate too much.

Regardless. Better safe than sorry. Ensure that your gains are kept in check and if it's not loud enough, don't add more power, add another driver.
