My audio cuts in and out at low volumes (Help)

I have a question for you that I am stumped on, First I'll explain what I have running.

Head Unit: Eclipse CD5030

Front Components: Morel Tempo 6.5's 120watts RMS

Amp: MTX TC6004, 4 channel amp

JL 10", 300watts RMS In a ported box tuned to 30hz custom made.

4-Channel 4AWG knukonceptz wiring kit.

75watts RMS x 2 on the components, And 300watts RMS on the woofer.

I did some testing today, I played the system loud for about 45 minutes and then I turned the volume down to 1/4 and the audio would slowly cut in and out a few times. I left the car on and popped the trunk, I touched the amp and it was only warm to the touch and was not in protection mode.

This seems to happen ever time, If I play it loud for a longer period of time and turn the volume down the audio will skip, All the audio will cut in and out a few times.

Now I'm just running it off the stock battery and I have not done the big 3 upgrade yet. I checked all the wires to make sure everything is tight and in order. I am thinking it is a voltage problem and that the battery might be too weak for this 4-channel amp.

I say again, It only cuts out after cranking it for awhile and turning it down to 1/4. Cuts out on LOW volume only.

Could be the stock battery, could be the wires not connected well. Make sure your ring terminals have a good connection where ever you have them.

It is strange it is doing it a low volumes though. What does your car do when you rev it some on low volume? It still skip or no? If so, probably an issue with loose connection somewhere, if not I suggest getting a new battery, or may have a bad altenator.

Honestly I woul get a better stock battery anyway.

I can't see it possible with something to do with a connection, It only cuts in and out at low volumes. If there was a connection issue it would do it all the time.

I honestly think it's a power issue and I hope it's just because of the stock battery.

Probably right. Have any friends that have extra batteries laying around to test? Something like a dry cell or something bigger than what you have now.

It isnt like you are pulling mad wattage through your system though. What size is that stock battery and again dont rule out the alty...thats what charges the battery, so might be an issue as well...hopefully not. Much cheaper to replace battery. I say try to test it out as not to spend unwanted monies....

BUMP...

Ok I did some more testing tonight, I cranked it for awhile and turned down the volume. I lowered the rear seats so I could see if the LED blinks or not.

When I turned the volume down the LED's faded in and out twice, So I turned up the volume again and then down again. The LED's faded in and out again...

This only happens when I crank it and then turn it down, I don't get it? It's like the amp shuts off and on really fast when I turn the volume down. I thought it was a signal problem but it seems to be a power problem, Either the amp is a dud or it's a voltage problem.

This is what it says in the manual:

7. Amplifier shutting off and LED flashing off and on:

high voltage at the +BATT or the remote portion of the amp. Test the +BATT and the remote

portion of the amp with a digital multi-meter. If the voltage at either of these terminals is

above 15 volts or below 11 volts, consult an automotive electrical specialist. If voltage is

consistently below 11 volts, adding a one-farad StreetWires stiffening capacitor will solve the

problem.

But the amp only shuts off for probably half a second and turns back on hence why the LED's barely blink.

Once I check the voltage and if it's normal than this amp is a dud and I'm sending it back...
