Poor college student
I finally got some free time to remove and take apart the Orion HS2.125 that smoked when I hooked it up and turned the car on. It looks like it's a few resistors and maybe the MOSFETs, but I don't know anything about this stuff really. I can solder and have friends who are really good at it, and my dad knows where to get any parts and has fixed amps before. So if it is fixable, it shouldn't be a problem.
For those of you who have seen many amps fry, would any of you know why this happened? I am 100% positive I had all of the corrections correct. It was bridged to a 4 ohm load when I turned it on, the gain was all the way down, and it was all the way down on my crossover, so it wasn't even getting a signal. Maybe there was something in there that shorted it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want more than 160 watts on my sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
If any more pics are needed, I can get them.
