My amp is makeing a whineing sound??

almost like a deep whistle but you cant hear it when im playing music...its working fine but that noise is pissing me off when i lower the volume and the amp is still on? have any ideas of what it could be???

is it a 4 channel?

if so that happends all the time from engine wind

edit- theres a way to fix it but i forgot lol

been a while since i hooked up a 4 channel

i can guarantee its coming from the amp...its a 1 channel. massive audio p1500 its a great amp and i never had problems with it before.

Does the whine change in frequency up and down as you rev the engine up and down?

no it dosent change noise level when i rev.

Not "level", I said "frequency". Does it start as a low "Buzzz" and as you rev the engine in goes "biiizzzz, zeeee," etc..

Doesn't matter, your problem is called "engine whine". It's caused by a ground loop in your system that is introducing RF/EMF noise into your audio. Either you need to fix the ground to your HU/Amp or you have a pioneer head unit with the BS pico fuse defect they refuse to fix.

Look at the stickies at the top of the electrical and Head Unit forums.
