My amp is killing my battery

I will start off by telling you that i have two Audiobahn Alum12Q's(wired at 1.5 ohms). They are in a sealed box and hooked up to a Hifonics 1600 watt mono amp. I jus recently installed this and i am havin problems. After having the setup in for a couple of hours my battery dies and i took it to Autozone to get it charged, but it was bad so I went ahead and bought a new battery (Everstart Maxx). So i decided to hook it up to the new battery. After a couple of hours, all seemed good but the next day when i got up to go to school my car wouldnt crank, so i unhooked the amp from the battery and the car cranked up without me gettin a boost off and after i drove it for a while i hooked it back up and the same thing happened the next morning. I have been considering getting a bigger alternator or putting a extra battery in the trunk. If anyone knows what would be the best thing to do in this situation Please Let Me Know. And if i were to put another battery in my trunk what would i need to do. And by the way I drive a 2004 Malibu Classic 2.2L.

so i unhooked the amp from the battery and the car cranked up without me gettin a boost off

this seems odd, possibly you have a bad battery connection somewhere, I dont see how by simply unhooking you amp the car would start right up

I thought about that and i check each time that i cut off my car to see if the amp has went off and it does go off.
Then something is draining the battery while it sits there overnight.

To see or not. disconect the battery over night and see if it will start the next day.

If so try putting a toggle switch on the remote wire and see if that helps.

If not you are going to have to break out the dmm and do alittle searching.

Ok and in the mean time i will take go to autozone to see if my alternator is any good. And by the way, 1 of my friends told me that 1600 watts is too much for a battery and stock alternator. As the alternator does not create that much power.

is dat true

If your alt was no good the car would die when driving not when sitting there.

can you take your car for a drive and start it up a few minutes after you shut it off?

Take you car for a drive like you normal do. crank the tunes and pull back in your drive way.

Shut the car off grab your dmm and check the voltage on the battery.

If the voltage is good at the battery and the car fires right up you got something draining power

i connected my remote wire to the remote wire that goes to my radio. And i am using a 5 gauge wire with a 100A fuse under the hood.
If you are getting a true 1600w rms you need wire atleast twice that big. You are probably haveing serious voltage drop issues which cant help your situation out much.
