My 2 15" hdc3 alum are blown after 3 hours of use!

both blown? probably user misuse.

x2 you prolly tuned your box way too low and played the wrong frequency

also the subs smelt too, but I believe that was just from breaking them in as usual

subs are done for....clipping out of the ***...just really didn't hear it. Oh well live an learn. I think my lpf was too high, and subsonic was off. 3 out of the 4 coils on both subs were blown...

...but on a side note can anyone help me with the recone info?

recone is easy just make sure to shim it right with paper cards and make sure to clamp the whole woofer

yeah it blows...I don't get why they worked great for the time before and then I went out for a ride a couple hours ago, and they stopped working after like 10 minutes of playing, I've never messed anything up before

you definatly didnt read the proper break in techniques did you??

actually its more less like 8-10 hours...but its cool, and I thought my amp was correct, but oh well, an exspensive mistake. I will be more carefull next time

I think I will be getting the copper coils this time tho

oh **** yes the volume was cranked...just trying to listen to my highs

but really, they were loud as ****. First night will gain at 1/3, my rear view mirror bracket snapped off, and my mirror ripped out of my window with a chunk of class with it and cracks in 2 spots.....crazy flex/ air. I didn't think I was too bad to them but I def learned.

anyone in michigan do recones? I just hear the glue for the aq is a bish to clean off?

some people do it for free, especially if you do the cleaning and removal of the bad parts, assume maybe 30 bucks ish

yes they are rated at 2 ohms...I had them wired to 2 ohm...hence dual 2 ohms subs...but the crossfire is sweet so far, rated at 12 volts.
