Murphy's law is a b!tch.

Ouch, that really sucks. Did the air bags deploy? It shouldn't mess up the value too much, unless there is frame damage, and then your screwed.
No airbags, only thing wrong is that the van thinks the door is open. That will be fixed with a new hatch. but yeah, it looks like the van itself is alright, there might be a little bit of damage to the body right above the bumper, though. I'm not going to open it and check it out, though for fear that it won't shut again.

It's not something you need to bring up at time of sale if it doesn't show up, that's not being dishonest... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I just had a revelation-- my van's trade in value is 9-11k depending on condition (unwrecked). If my bumper, lift gate, power lift gate motor, and floor pan are boned (I may have to get the floor pan stretched. Again, haven't checked since I don't want to open it) Think all that can add up to half the van's value? Because in the case that the insurance company can total it out, I'm taking the money and running.

Just an fyi to you idiots out there who say "it'll show up on the title" your wrong.

It will show up on the CarFax report, but on the title it only says if it is a salvaged vehicle. nothing shows up on the title.

You have to run the vin number through some other agency, not the dmv. To get records.
