Could someone PLZ post some pics of their set ups of multiple batts!!! I know u just connect the post to post and neg to neg, but then i read this....... and im kinda confused //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif PLZ HELP!!!!

"If u want to do it properly you can buy a battery isolator relay which you connect on the positive wire. This connects the secont battery to the alternator only when it need charging and when you stop the car it disconects it automaticaly there around AUS$70.

I have a second bat in my 4wd and iv just got a few switches to control when the 2nd bat is connected through a 180amp relay, this is the cheap option"

Basically are you going to be playing your stereo with your car off for extended periods of time?? If not dont worry about the isolator and just wire them like you said.

no, just driving. Do u have ANY pics of multiple batt setups?!? Or explain what i need to hook them up? Do i need new batt terminals?

i used to have pics but no you do not need new terminals jus wire up the pos post from first batt to post post of 2nd batt, and do the same for the neg 2 neg, however if you have 1 battery in the front and 1 in the trunk and are trying to connect them, run the pos the same but jus ground the front batt to the frame, and ground the rear battery to the frame

Get a 200A Relay. There are 4 posts (2 Big, 2 Small). Wire the #1 big to the 1st battery with appropriate wire gauge.

Wire the other batteries to the #2 Big post.

Wire ign to one of the small posts

Wire ground to the other small post.

This will keep you from draining the front battery and will let the car start at all times. This is the CORRECT way to wire up batts.

Then at the other batteries, Pos to Pos and Neg to Neg. Ground the neg to the CHASSIS. Make sure the Big 3 is done in the appropriate wire gauge to insure the stock ground is not overloaded.

forget buying an isolater or any of this other crap.

96 explorer, multiple battery setup, sitting for a week, not driven once......starts just fine...multiple times.

save your money. my .02c

A relay is needed because the battery with the lowest voltage will pull from and ruin the other batteries.

I have had to fix and replace many setups due to. (I have done this Professionally for 8.5 years now. I compete SQ regularly and possibly opening up my own high-end audio shop within the year)

Shouldnt be a big problem at all if you buy your batteries at the same time and place...that's usually recommended
