I Heard that u lose voltage when u use a battery isolater...is this true? If so whats a better way of hooking up 3 batterys (all 3 batteries will be the same)?
You do lose a minor amount of voltage when using an isolator, that said though, I would rather lose a little voltage and know that my car will still start. Running 3 batteries is going to put quite a strain on the alternator, can the alternator handle this?
My question is as to why you think you need 3 batteries. In 99% of the cases 3 or more batteries will give you extended playing time with the ignition off and not much benefit at all with the vehicle running.
What kinda of batteries? No your alt is not big enough! What are you in need of 3 batteries for then we can perhaps help you better. A optima yellow top under the hood or 2 under the hood is VERY sufficent for any case other thing big time competitors. If you get a 200amp alt you can build a battery tray and run them under your hood or get a batt iso and run 1 in the front and 1 in the rear and I assure you should have enough power.
