Muffler Delete Anyone?

Dude it's a sedan without any exterior upgrades...It looks like my Grandma's car...

Stock exhaust it fine.
I don't think grandma's drive with 20's and a 2.5" drop...people understimate the car, little do they know what they get into. I suggest driving the car before making poor judgement because it's a sedan. I guess if I had a coupe it would be faster? Not really, coupe weighs more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I HIGHLY doubt you'll notice a difference in power or mpg. Noise pollution might be something to concern yourself with, I hear CA cops are pretty picky about modified cars.
They can be, depends on where you're at and who the cop is. Most of the time if you're not doing anything stupid, theyre not going to pull you over.

You won't gain anything, lose anything hp, torque or mpg wise unless your G35 exhaust is much different than the 05 coupe. One of the guys on a local forum took his mufflers off to get the "more aggressive sound" and got nothing but that lol. Honestly, if it was a 350z I'd say leave the mufflers off as that sounds more mean, but for a G35 I'd leave the HKS or stock IMO.

i had a philipino land lady that drove an 06 and an 07 GTO. the 06 was stick and the 07 was auto.

lol, she's about 64yrs old and about 4'5" tall..

never underestimate grannies.

i like sedan sleepers myself. i will eventually do something with my car. i should lighten my audio system load and start working on my engine.

sleepers ftw..

Was it a gray coupe? I saw one on the G35 forum, didn't get a chance to listen to it since I was at work. I don't have HKS anymore though.

Also I enjoyed the no muffler video of the g35 but it sound tingy, you should do intake that should help that out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Already got intake...whistles a lil bit and during WOT it gets pretty loud.

07 GTO? que?

I wouldn't delete the muffler. Nissan's VQ motors have a nasty high-pitched buzz without the proper resonators to tone it down. Your best bet is to leave the stock muffler in place and delete the resonators in the midpipe. You'll get better gains that way too. The idea is to do your performance enhancements in the area that the exhaust is still hot.

Right now i'm not really in for the performance gains, just the sound. I hate the sound I have now. Once I get the catback I'll have some nice gain, around 20 HP, but I gotta find out about torque, that's what I'm interested in. Right now I'm debating whether I want to do with it because of emissions. If I get pulled over for any reason, I have no idea how much a ticket would be. I've hear it can cost about 5 grand, but I don't know how much truth there is to that.
