hey everyone hope your all havin a good night/day. So today I just got a 12" L7 solo-baric sub at 2-ohms enclosure straight from kicker manufacturer and a kicker ZX 750.1 amp and I went to go turn on the music and it sounded MUDDY as hell. Don't get me wrong.. it was loud as hell almost too loud.
I have a 04' civic coupe and im starting to think i got a sub way too powerful for my car. I got it professionally installed at circuit city the dude just placed the sub in the middle of the trunk and he mounted the amp on the back of the sub... but to the problems im having
My first impressions............. (first sub system so don't know a whole lot about it)
1. The sub is pretty loud it shakes the seats and my chest like crazy
2. When i looked at the sub in action it didn't seem to be bumping a lot it seemed pretty still it kicked a little bit on some bigger bass songs but nothing like I saw when I was checkin it out at the store
3. The bass seems realllyy deep almost too deep the bass almost isn't pleasant to listen to
4. The bass really carries throughout the car and echoes all around
I guess it is just not what i expected... very loud and bass is very deep it doesn't sound crisp or clear like the subs im used to listening to. I haven't messed with teh amp at all the dude at circuit city said "i wouldnt mess with the amp" just tune it from the receiver.
So i'm thinking.. what else do I need to do to tune it correctly? Right now its hella loud and sounds muddy and basically isn't much fun to listen to it really carries in the car but doesn't seem that loud outside the car like I would have expected.
Sorry for the long post... and i'm really just looking for some suggestions for a first time sub/amp user because I don't know much about it. so any suggestions on how to make it sound better and not so muddy would be great.. it overpowers the speakers I can barely hear the actual music.
Thanks, any help is appreciated!!!! peacee
EDIT: I'll post pics tomorrow so you can get a better idea of how it's set up
