I currently have a kenwood 512 dd indash dvd player....

i was wondering is there a way to greatly inprove the sq out of this unit by using an eq...or is my only good option to buy a higher quality head uint...

What is it that you think you are lacking? What's the install look like? If that's shitty then forget about purchasing more equipment.

i don't think that unit is active capable.

Basically going active means taking out the crossovers that came with your components. And fine tuning your mids and tweets yourself. Its night and day difference IMO.

Perhaps look into a RF 3sixty.2 or bitone.

you can go active on anything....you just need to buy more equipment if the deck isn't capable

what im lackin is a good solid deck....

i bought the head unit before the rest of my stereo ...

im goin to upgrade my deck if there is no other salution

im thinking of ditching the dd dvd

and running a alpine 9887

would this be a signifigant sound differnce?

teh alpine 9887 is a badass deck...lots of processing on it. Solid SQ unit

ok thats what i wanted to hear....

but before i run out and buy one is there an way to improve the sq of my head unit i currently have???

is it possible to run a Processor and get the same sq as the alpine 9887?
