OK first off .. type r sux.... w7 ownes the mtx in every way and has the potential to be louder than a r... It will be hard to do but the potential is there

not exactly...... i went and tested a 10 w7 and a 9510 both in ported applications both off jl 500.1 and to my ear they sound extremely close however that extra thump that I WILL REQUIRE from either 10 comes from the mtx more than the jl, thus i fell like the mtx sub b/w the two tens is ideal ...... period.

Also - keep in mind that both subs actually need around 1,000w a piece, 500 just wont do them full justice

i live a few min north of downtown

rms of the 10w7 is 500 watts

rms of the mtx is 750 watts

we'd assume that th e10w7 would be more efficient off its own "JL " made amp but nope didn't win this battle.
