I just bought (2) MTX T9512-04's for $700. I also purchased the Subzone ZR dual 12" ported box tuned at 30hz with 2.0 cubic feet internal volume for each chamber.

Here is the link for the box http://www.subzoneusa.com/12_zv_series.htm

I currently had 2 JL 12W6v2 subs running in 2 ohm with a simalar vented box to the SubZone which I just purchased that I'm waiting to get, but it was 1.0 cu per chamber. The amp that I'm using is a Rockford Fosgate BD1501 rated at 1876 watts RMS on the test paper.

I took out my JL's and put in the 2 9500's in the box, wow does it sound crappy. The setup sounds just like my old set up in spl an SQ, still cant hit low notes like in Ludas song Blueberry Yum Yum. It sounds that they have potential, but I dont know. I'm Guess the new box really makes a difference.

I heard a guys set up at Chronic caraudio, he had 2 9500's with mtx 1501, pretty much everything the same as I did 1/0 ga all the way back to 1.5 fared cap solid power and good rca voltage. His sounded amazing and it was in a sealed box in the back of a beemer.

Will the arrival of my SubZone box with 2.0 cu ft which MTX recomends for internal compared to my current 1.0 cu ft really make that much of a difference? and

Do the subs take time to break in a get louder?

Here is my ride that they are going into http://xtremeblazing.freewebspace.com/catalog.html

Thnx

First off IMO i would break them in first before romping on them. I would set he gain low and keep the sub bass down and graddually turn it up over the course of like a week IMO. I used to have a MTX 9500 12 and I ran it off a MTX 1501D and it slammed I ran it in 2.25 cubes ported tuned to 35hz with around 38 square of port. With the new box U should see a vast improvement. Listen to it for a while with the new box see how it sounds and if you want more get a custom ported box built or build one yourself. The MTX 9500 subs IMO are great subs with a lot of potential to get loud buy like all subs I fell the instalation has just as much to do with how it sounds as the equipment if not more
