I just bought one of these and im gunna run it with 2 RE SE 12's theyre d4 so ve got to go at 1 ohm. i know theres a common mod everyone does to it to make it 1 ohm stable but what is it and what will happen if i dont do it...also what kind of power should i expect in both situations?

The mod is extremely easy to do and you must do it to run it at 1 ohm or else it will just go into protect. The amp will give it more than enough power. i had two 10" SE's in a sealed box and this amp was way too much power for them.

a vid i made.

btw you look like a complete tool for having a picture of yourself in your avatar, this is pretty much a all guy forum. no offense.

according to the guys at the authorized mtx repair facility this resistor only regulates the voltage. taking it out allows you to run the amp above 15v without it going into protect. With a decent electrical you can run them .7ohm dcr @ 12v for at least an hour ish before it gets too hot. If you can keep your voltage at or above 14v you can run it all day without it getting hot.

the amount of power you get out will depend greatly on how much power you have it give it. keep an eye on it and check how hot it gets after 10min, 20min, 30min of hard play. I abused the holy hell out of my 1501d at 1 ohm really realllllly bad and it blew after a few months. But good god it took the abuse.
