This should be in the subwoofer section.

Anyway the Kicker would prob be the loudest, the MTX will have the best sq. And they all **** to begin with.

There are far better choices out there.

I thought the l5s got replaced with l3s now. Anyhow. I'd try the hifonics price wise.

If you're gonna get an L5 make sure you get the latest-gen one, the older models has a tendency to rip the tinsel leads if you apply more than 600 watts RMS(which is more than what they're rated for though). I've felt the MTX square subs in person and their cone is definitely not as rigid as the Kickers. Never played with the HiFonics squares myself so I don't know.

What's "better choice" out there, more IA & Sundown? Hipster please.

ehehe good info I have audioque's my self I was just wondering what you guys though was the best budget square subwoofer.....it seems the l5 is the best outta them all

I pound the &^$! outta my L5 until it died, it was perfectly fine with 500 watts but it didn't like 800 haha. It was in the older, large slot-vented prefab box from Kicker.

You know there are Pyramid Hyper Pro squares... they're around $50.

I just got done building a box for an 08 model L5d2. 1.95net, 28" of port tuned to 36hz. Just tested it out in my truck on over 3x its rated power....

Dont know how long it would take that but it did for my short test and actually sounded pretty decent.

Hopefully the customer is happy.
