Mtx Or Hifonics???

I just bought a 81001 amp, and will be buying some subs for it. There are two that im looking at, either two 10" 9500's or One 12" Hifonics Goliath, now the Goliath is supposed to put out 3400 or so RMS, and the MTX's combine about 1500RMS, i'd prefer to keep it MTX, but would like to save some money if I can by buyin only one sub, if it'll sound the same or better. So please tell me what u think.

First offf - subs do not 'put out' any amount of power. They are rated to accept a certain amount of power safely and the amount of power they are sent will depend on both the amplifier driving them and the amount of current available to said amplifier to create output wattage with.

I have not heard the Goliath so I cannot comment on it with any degree of useful knowledge. I've heard some 9500s in a few various installs and with appropriate power they can certainly get loud but to my ear they didn't sound particularly accurate. I suppose it will depend on what you're after ~ SPL, SQ, or a combination of both (most commonly referred to as SQL)

on that 81001 amp, u will def be underpowering the 9500's. good solid biuld driver, but sq does lack. never herd hifonics, but they make hella good amps for da money.

Im only lookin for SPL, as for the underpowering, well the 9500's dont have a warranty, so im trying to play it safe with the amount of power im feeding them, thats y only one 81001. Plus, the 81001 that i bought was measured at 1676 @ 1 ohm, 1374@ 2ohm, and THAT, should be more than enough power for me...for now.
