The MTX 9500 series are very good subs. They're overpriced, but the same could be said for everything the "big" companies make.
I wouldn't be ashamed to run them. Not one bit...

No one is saying they don't. Hell, for the price I could get 5500's and 7500's at the shop I used to hang around, I'd run them all day. $80 for 12" 5500's and $130 for 12" 7500's was a good price when they first came out.

And the 9500's are solid subs, they're just not the end all be all that you're making them out to be.

I don't have experience with anything MTX makes, with the exception of the 9500s. I can't speak for anything else they currently have on the market...

ok look here ... Mtx products out last kicker and orion at least there 9500's so i have yet to hear about anyone blowing a 9500 in any sized unless they don't know what they're doin!!! look up the woofer cooker and watch the 9500 in action!!! that all i have to say. kicker and orion burnt quick mtx was still moving strong .. Im very happy with their stuff my setup beats!!! i know i can do 150db easy !!!!!

so 400 new for a sub that can barley take a true 1kw...... in that movie you are talking about they could have easly clipped the amp to kill the other woofers, audioque dd dc sundown rd cadence these are some very under rated products.... not mtx thats y they dont hold any spl records..... and i do just under 150 with a single dd3518 and cadence ia9, you prolly have never been in a car thats doing 150....
